Global Plastics Treaty

Still no action on
plastic chemicals that harm kids

The Global Plastics Treaty is a once in a lifetime opportunity to create universal protection against health harms caused by chemicals found in plastic and make plastic polluters pay for it.

Inarguable evidence for harm to human health

Toxic chemicals found in everyday plastic items leach into our bodies.

These chemicals include bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, which cause health harms.

Plastic chemicals drive significant, long term and debilitating harm in babies, children and adults, including miscarriage, IQ point loss, obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

The evidence for this harm is consistent and overwhelming, generated from peer-reviewed studies, incorporating data from over 1.5 million people.

This is a big problem and we have an opportunity to fix it - the Global Plastics Treaty.

By regulating chemicals found in plastic, under Article 3, we can protect ourselves from the health harms at the source.
